The Virginia football team off to a 4-1 start and still undefeated in ACC play so excitement has climbed for fans. That’s made it easier for fans to lose track of the basketball countdown clock. The season is approximately a month away and the clock is in the low 30’s as that season approaches.

In other words, with both teams ranked in the top 25 and ACC play just around the corner in each sport – remember, the basketball team opens its season at Syracuse as part of the ACC Network’s launch this year – there’s plenty to talk about. That led to a lot of conversations on both boards this week as fans weighed the impact of California’s Fair Pay To Play Act, offense for the two teams, some challenges ahead in ACC play, and more.

Some of the football discussion is included below. Let’s get to Fan Friday!

Thread Of The Week

A thread sparked by Ahmad Hawkins’ Ball Hawk Show podcast (listen here) led to several good posts. Here is the thread starter and some select posts follow.

Post Of The Week

With a bye week on the football schedule, I decided to go back and watch the Purdue game replay from the Elite 8. That article is here. During the week, Kamikaze Hoo shared a link to the video below so we made that the featured post this week. The whole thread is a fun read.

Question Of The Week

The selected question this week comes from the basketball board. HooInDE asked “First game – who gets first shot? First bucket?” Popular responses included Kihei Clark, Mamadi Diakite, and Jay Huff. Share your answers in the thread by clicking here.
