The Virginia baseball team earned a trip back to Omaha for the College World Series, giving Hoo fans an extended sports year once again. Brian O’Connor’s program last appeared in Omaha in 2015 when it won the National Championship. This year’s team will try to join the women’s swimming and diving and men’s lacrosse teams with titles during this sports year.

Fans, obviously, are excited about the baseball team’s run. Here are some threads that have popped up this week.

While the baseball team’s run certainly has fans talking, there have been some good threads on the rest of TheSabre.com’s message boards too. The football board had a long thread on tailgating, the men’s basketball board had threads on the late Fletcher Arritt, way too early bracketology, and Isaiah Wilkins’ return. The lacrosse board had a good thread on the latest Lars Tiffany newsletter. And, of course, the Olympic Sports board in general is buzzing with several Cavalier swimmers earning spots for Team USA in Japan this summer.

Let’s take a look at the weekly fan picks to wrap up Fan Friday!
