TheSabre.com Fan Friday: Hoos Ready For Weekend At Scott Stadium

The Virginia football team will spend a lot of time at Scott Stadium this weekend. That’s the latest sign that football season is just around the corner.

The Cavaliers have worked through the first week of preseason practice and Saturday will mark the first scrimmage of training camp. They will hold that session at Scott Stadium as the first dress rehearsal for the opener with Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 3. That game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and at least part of this weekend’s practice will be in that same time window.

While the Hoos look forward to the feedback from that scrimmage, fans are excited about the team’s other scheduled appearance at the stadium this weekend. Virginia hosts 2022 Meet The Team Day on Sunday and fans will get a chance to meet the team and gather autographs. There is also a family movie (Encanto) at 5:30 p.m. and it can be viewed from the field or stands.

The West Gates open for entry at 3:45 p.m. Coach Tony Elliott and team members will be available for autographs beginning at 4 p.m. on the lower level concourse. Fans can pick up copies of the the 2022 team poster at the event.
The planned set-up for the autograph session can be seen below.

The entire Virginia Meet The Team event is free to the public. The scrimmage, however, is closed.
