Best Seat In The House: Sabre Editor Kris Wright

It’s been a busy offseason for the Virginia men’s basketball team between working the transfer portal with roster changes and waiting out the NBA Draft decision of Reece Beekman, who ultimately returned. The Cavaliers also had to make a move on the assistant coach front and eventually the big news that Ron Sanchez was returning came through.

Sanchez, former and now current UVA Associate Head Coach, resigned at Charlotte after five seasons to return to Charlottesville. He served on Bennett’s coaching staffs at Virginia and Washington State for 12 combined years before taking the lead job with the 49ers. He returns to a spot vacated by Kyle Getter, who accepted a new coaching post at Notre Dame. During 9 seasons on the staff, UVA won 212 games, three ACC Regular Season Championships, and two ACC Tournament titles.

Luke Neer welcomed Sabre Editor Kris Wright to The Best Seat in the House radio show to talk about Sanchez’s return and more Virginia basketball.
