Torrian Gray was a 4-year letterman and 3-year starter for the Hokies. He was 2nd Team All Big East on two occassion, and 1st Team All Big East once. He went on to play in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings before a knee injury ended his career. He went on to coach for Maine, UConn, the Chicago Bears, and is now the defensive backs coach at Virginia Tech.
Gray was recruited by Kansas, Florida, Florida State and Florida A&M, although it is unclear which schools offered him scholarships. He was listed as one of the top 53 defensive backs in the nation by G&W Recruiting Report.
