To say the least, it has been a whirlwind journey for Scott Deke over the past 16 months.
After emerging as the starting quarterback midway through his junior season in 2002 at Loyola High School in Los
Angeles, Calif., the right-handed throwing QB took the nation and the Cavalier sports world by storm, landing as the
fifth commitment in the 2004 Virginia recruiting class.
After finishing with 896 yards passing as a junior, Deke decided that he would send in videotape and a letter to the
Virginia coaching staff in hopes of getting a shot at being invited to the Cavaliers’ summer camp in 2003
It did not take the coaching staff long to give Deke the invite that he desired.
