Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA) head coach Jeff Weachter is no stranger to having talented squads. In fact, the Bishop McDevitt team is such a big-time high school program that it holds its own Meet the Team day, held last week. “It’s going well,” Weachter said. “I guess USA Today ranked us 12th in the nation. We have targets on our backs and a lot of pressure, but the kids are handling it pretty well. We won our first scrimmage 15 to 2…and that’s 15 touchdowns to two. Hopefully it’ll be a good season if we can stay healthy. The team is really coming together. Everybody’s kind of taking a backseat and worrying about the team, which is good.”
Of his top recruits, Ricker and Baumbach have committed to Maryland, Kates is putting his recruitment on hold and McCoy and Berry may be close to narrowing their respective lists.
