Recent News…

Commitments…

DE/OL Bruce Campbell committed to Maryland.

OL Hutch Eckerson is no longer considering UVa.

Important visits for the weekend of January 13th-15th

UVa visitors (uncommitted)…

I think UVa should be able to come away with at least a commitment or two this weekend. The most likely candidates are, in my opinion, DT Gavin Smith , TE Jack Shields and WR Donald Bowens (if UVa offers). RB Cameron Smith will not make an official visit to Virginia.

Many more decisions, from visitors to UVa and UVa targets visiting elsewhere, are likely to come next week. These include OL Billy Cuffee, CB James Nixon , LB Greg Robinson and DE Johnnie Troutman . UVa commit George Johnson , Jr, who made an official visit to Penn State last month, will announce his final decision at his school next Friday. I still expect the choice to be UVa, although the announcement in itself did come as a surprise.

The Visitors…

WR Donald Bowens . Bowens does not have an official offer from UVa at this point, but could land one over the weekend. If UVa offers, it wouldn’t surprise me if he took it although he did enjoy his official to N.C. State last weekend. He told me that he is down to N.C. State or Virginia.

RB Brent Carter . I still think Penn State and Boston College are the teams to beat. UVa has a shot, but it will take a great visit to overcome those two.
