Simply put, UVa’s 2007 class is one of the best of the Al Groh era, and kudos to the staff for putting together and keeping together this caliber a class in the face of coaching turnover as well as a disappointing 2006 season. Rated the number 25 overall class in the country by Rivals.com, Virginia’s class consists of seven 4-star recruits including four from the state of Virginia. UVa head coach Al Groh and staff landed top talents from out-of-state and really enhanced the athleticism of the team.
“It has got so many of the qualities we like,” UVa head coach Al Groh said of the 2007 class. “It has got the athletic ability, the versatility. It has got a high level of competitive toughness about it. It’s very solid academically. All of those things add up to a lot of guys with an achievement oriented mindset…a lot of can-do people.”
