6-2, 290-pound Dunbar (Washington, D.C.) defensive tackle Reggie Ellis has visited the University of Virginia a total of four times, with the most recent visit being for the February 24th junior day. UVa is one of three offers for the talented Ellis, who earned first-team all-combine honors at the Army National Junior Combine in January.
At the combine, Ellis ran a 4.65 in the pro agility, a 4.97 in the 40-yard dash and displayed a 25.5-inch vertical leap.
“He’s an explosive, athletic big kid who is strong,” said Dunbar head coach Craig Jefferies, whose team has won 7 of the past 9 DCIAA championships. Ellis is yet another talented prospect in a talented program. “He is fundamentally sound. He has a motor…he’s a competitor. He’s not going to back down from anything. He steps up the challenge. Off the field, he’s quiet and mild-mannered, but he’s so competitive and versatile on the field and will do what he needs to do.”
