Colter Phillips verbally committed to the University of Virginia a little under two months ago, but his decision was reaffirmed with an outstanding experience this past Saturday. The 6-6, 240-pound tight end recruit, a standout out of Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD), enjoyed many things about UVa’s Elite Junior Day.

“It was a great day,” Phillips said. “I was committed going into it and the trip just solidified it even more. I talked to the guys there. They seemed like a great group of guys. They are great football players and great guys at the same time. I can see myself getting to know those guys.”

Phillips also may have had a hand in helping Virginia capture four more commitments on Saturday. At the very least, his presence certainly didn’t hurt matters.
