Ravenscroft (Raleigh, N.C.) forward Ryan Kelly turned in an outstanding junior season performance, averaging 23.7 points, 9 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game. The 6-9, 202-pound prospect helped his team to a 24-6 record, a conference tournament championship and a number four seed in the state playoffs.
“I think I really developed as a scorer this season,” said Kelly, whose team fell short of its goal of winning a state title but is primed for another strong run next season. “I think I understand how to play the game. I just tried to be a good player for my team. I tried to be a good captain…that was important to me.
“Now, the most important thing for me is to get in the weight room. I kept the weight I had put on before the season, which is good, so I’m hoping to add more weight this offseason.”
