The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.) star lineman Anthony LaLota first began receiving official Division 1A offers in February, but the success did not stop there. Scholarship offers have continued to roll in ever since and the 6-5, 256-pound junior is now up to 19 Division 1A offers. LaLota’s success is impressive, especially considering he had never played organized football before last fall.
Prior to his junior year, LaLota thought of himself only as a basketball player. In what has turned out to be an outstanding move, he decided to give the gridiron a chance. He would become a starter at defensive end and offensive tackle and, 19 Division 1A offers later, he realizes his future is in football.
“The coaches gave me an opportunity to come out and see if I liked it,” said LaLota, who has become one of the top overall prospects in the state of New Jersey.
