Last Sunday, Montrose Christian (Rockville, MD) wing forward Tristan Spurlock told TheSabre.com that he would likely make a college decision within the next two weeks. At the time, the 6-8, 216-pound wing forward had planned an unofficial visit to Georgetown for last Wednesday. Spurlock did not make the planned trip to Georgetown, but that does not necessarily mean the decision timetable has changed.

“That could still happen,” Spurlock answered when asked if he could still make a decision within the two week timetable he indicated last week. “That is definitely still in there as something that could happen.”

Of the Georgetown trip, Spurlock said, “I didn’t make it. I pushed it back. Right now it is still in the works, but no date has been set.”

For now, Spurlock may be focusing in on making a college decision.

“I’m putting everything together,” Spurlock said. “My parents and I are putting everything together.”

Led by head coach Dave Leitao, UVa has done a great job of recruiting the talented wing. Coach Leitao and company were the first to heavily recruit Spurlock, who has developed a great relationship with Leitao as well as lead recruiter Bill Courtney.

“I talk to them once a month,” Spurlock said. “Coach Leitao just talked to my parents [last week], but I was in Arizona and didn’t get to speak to him. It is like family when they call. I know what they are all about and what their needs are.”

Spurlock, who listed a top five of Clemson, Georgetown, N.C. State, Virginia and Wake Forest back in July, has seemed to really be deciding between the Cavaliers and Hoyas. While his decision ultimately may come down to Georgetown and Virginia, there could be a third team in this mix as well.
