Adrian Gamble ‘s recruiting card
Recruiting in the 2010 football recruiting class continues, but it’s never too early to get a head start on the next class. The University of Virginia football program did just that earlier this week, securing a verbal commitment from 6-2, 180-pound rising junior wide receiver Adrian Gamble .
Gamble earned a verbal offer – as a rising junior he cannot receive official offers until the start of his junior year – after performing well at Virginia’s camp in late June. It was that experience that impressed him enough to pledge to Al Groh a month later.
“He had a good time up there,” Independence offensive coordinator Aaron Brand said. “Coach Lineburg, Coach Wilt, Coach Poindexter…all those guys along with Coach Groh were instrumental in his decision. I’ve known Wayne Lineburg and Wilt for a long time. I knew they’d take care of him. Those guys did a tremendous job of making him feel comfortable. I commend the staff. They also care about more than football. Everybody wants great football, but they want great kids, too.
