Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA) linebacker prospect Travis Hughes did make the trek to the University of Virginia on Saturday, so he now has taken in junior days at Maryland, Virginia Tech and Virginia over the past month. All three schools impressed the 6-1, 215-pound junior, who has become one of the state’s most highly recruited prospects.
Hughes reflected first on Saturday’s recruiting event in Charlottesville.
“UVa was actually all right,” Hughes said. “The coaches are really nice. All the coaches are great people. Talk to anybody that went to the junior day and they’ll tell you there was a strong recruiting class there. Lots of good players were there. Coach London is a great coach. He does a great job of selling the school. I’ve never seen a coach that active in the recruiting process. He greeted me at the door. I have appreciation for what he did. It was a very good visit.”
And then he broke down the three ACC schools and what stands out about each, beginning with the University of Maryland.
