Other than “a little clean-up time,” Ryan Burns didn’t see much action as Stone Bridge High School’s (Ashburn, VA) backup quarterback last season. The 6-5, 220-pound rising sophomore will not start out this season as the Bulldogs starting signal caller, giving way to rising senior Brian Rody. Potential is there, however, evidenced by the fact that Burns has earned a verbal scholarship offer from an ACC program despite the lack of starting experience on the high school varsity level.
“It was surprising,” Burns said of the verbal offer he received from Boston College. “I went for a 4-day camp in June. They kind of gave me hints that they liked me, but I really wasn’t expecting anything. I was really happy about it.”
