The big recruiting weekend has come and gone and a new commitment is on board in Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA) safety Clifton Richardson took some time to discuss the overall feeling of the weekend, their impressions of the class as a whole, the uncommitted targets in town and much more.
Safety position being addressed
Anthony Harris starred at cornerback and quarterback for the past two seasons at L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA), but he’ll play another position when Virginia’s preseason practice begins this summer.
“This weekend, I got a great feel of what position they would want me to play. At first I thought it was a toss-up between cornerback and safety. This weekend, they pretty much declared me as a safety. They also think I could be a top guy as far as playing the nickel position,” said the 6-3, 190-pound Harris, who racked up 31 tackles, nine pass break-ups and five interceptions as a senior. He earned first-team all-state honors at cornerback as a junior. He totaled 21 touchdowns on offense as a senior, guiding the Skyhawks to an undefeated regular season and a Dominion district title.
