Mike London and the Hoos hit Tidewater for the second straight spring.
The Virginia football team took its first of two spring road trips this weekend, spending Saturday afternoon honing their skills in Hampton, Virginia at Darling Stadium. The open practice session was free for fans, and took on a carnival-like atmosphere complete with a moon bounce and T-Shirts featuring the big man himself, coach Mike London. The real fun took place on the field, however, as the team suited up in full pads for the first time since November of last year.
Coming Home
The city of Hampton and the Tidewater UVa community welcomed the team with open arms on Saturday, even painting a V-Sabre in the middle of the field. London, a native of the area, has been committed to taking the program on the road and reaching out to fans across the state, but returning to Darling Stadium, where many area high schools play their games, was a special moment for him.
