The Latest On U.S. Army All-American Eli Harold

The holder of around 20 FBS scholarship offers, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) star Eli Harold has become one of the most coveted juniors in the state. Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Maryland, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech are some of the schools on the 6-4, 215-pound prospect’s impressive offer list.

“It’s getting to be just like [Tennessee rising sophomore wide receiver Justin Hunter ‘s],” Dolphins head coach Chris Scott said of Harold’s recruitment. Hunter was an Under-Armour All-American.

“Eli is an athletic linebacker or defensive end. From LSU to UCLA to USC to Florida, there is an abundance of mail and phone calls.”

Harold started at wide receiver and defensive end this past season, and some schools initially offered as a wide receiver. LSU, which offered the same day the talented prospect was selected to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, was one of those schools. Harold, though, prefers defense, which wasn’t a problem for the Tigers.
