Despite being the son of former University of Virginia star and NFL quarterback Shawn Moore, Michael Moore hasn’t always been a football-first athlete. On the contrary, basketball was Moore’s first love, until it became apparent that his athletic future was much brighter on the gridiron.
“I started playing football around the seventh grade. Once I started getting looks by high schools, I realized I might want to switch to football. I tried to play basketball in high school. I always wanted to play basketball in college. I thought about maybe playing both football and basketball in college, but it would be too hard,” said Moore, who attends DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
