Year in, year out, I find that I am not that worried about whether the running backs will be an issue for the Virginia offense. In all likelihood, that opinion is the natural result of a belief that if an offensive line is solid, the running backs in turn will be able to gain yards, whether by the run or the pass. But whatever the reason behind my opinion – and my opinion remains pretty much the same going into 2011 as it has in past seasons – it should not obscure the fact that there is solid talent at the position.
