Neither Matt Johns were offered by the University of Virginia prior to Saturday’s one-day camp. By day’s end, the Varina (VA) athlete and the Central Bucks South (Warrington, PA) quarterback had become the latest members of UVa’s 2012 recruiting class.
Johns admits he knew nothing about the University of Virginia, or its football program, when primary recruiter Mike Faragalli stopped by his high school this past January. Still, in late April, he and his family decided to stop in Charlottesville for a closer look.
“I just fell in love with it,” Johns said. “As soon as I left, I knew where I wanted to go.”
