2010 was a fascinating year to evaluate the defensive tackles, all of whom were playing new roles in a new system, trying to find their way as they went. Overall, the unit was relatively productive under the … you know … circumstances, but a bump in performance is hoped for in 2011. The Summer Reading continues as we jump to the defensive side of the ball with a look at those defensive tackles first.

The Starters

Nick Jenkins started every game in 2010 and, except for relinquishing the starting spot to John-Kevin Dolce for Dolce’s last game as a Hoo, so did Matt Conrath . So both plan to start every game in 2011, too, but they are getting some pressure in that regard.
