Game Nuggets
- UVa defeated San Jose State, 52-14, at Scott Stadium in 1998. That’s the only time Virginia has faced a WAC team in the regular season.
- Virginia running back Kevin Parks has posted 6 rushing touchdowns this season. The UVa school record for rushing touchdowns in a season by a freshman is seven (Howard Petty 1983 and Marcus Wilson 1987).
- Cavalier receiver Kris Burd ranks 10th all-time at Virginia in receiving yards with 1,527 and needs just 52 yards to pass Bruce McGonnigal (1,556 from 1987-1990) and Dave Sullivan (1,578 from 1970-1972) on the list. Burd ranks seventh in receptions and needs just five catches to pass Sullivan (120) and Germane Crowell (122 from 1994-1997).
- Idaho’s trip to Charlottesville is its first ever contest in the state of Virginia and the first against an active member of the ACC.
- Robb Akey is in his fifth season as head coach at Idaho. After rebuilding in his first two seasons, his 2009 team won the Humanitarian Bowl.
Chase Minnifield and the Hoos look for a win going into their bye week.
