UVa Becomes A Player For London Perrantes

Out scouting AAU games in Las Vegas last month, University of Virginia men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett was particularly impressed with the play of Crespi Carmelite (Encino, CA) rising senior point guard London Perrantes.

“[Bennett] called me and told me he loved the way I played,” said the 6’1″, 185-pound Perrantes, who believes he has been on the staff’s radar since the end of his junior season. “He said he wanted me to come visit the campus, and he said he wanted to offer me a scholarship.”

Contrary to a report last week in the Los Angeles Times, Perrantes has not visited UVa before. He is, however, interested in exploring what the school has to offer.

“I’m definitely considering it very seriously,” Perrantes said of the Virginia offer. “I’ll talk to Coach Bennett when they get back from their European trip (on August 16).”
