Game Nuggets

• Virginia and Penn State first played in 1893. This is the eighth all-time meeting between the programs with PSU holding a 5-2 edge in the series. UVa travels to Happy Valley next season on Sept. 14.
• The last time the Hoos faced Penn State in 2002 in Happy Valley, 108,698 fans attended the game. That is the largest crowd the Cavaliers have ever played in front of.
• The Cavaliers have won three straight games against Ben Ten competition: Minnesota in 2005 and Indiana in 2009 and 2011.
• UVa quarterback Michael Rocco’s father Frank Rocco Jr. was a member of Penn State’s 1982 National Championship squad. Frank Rocco Jr. also played quarterback.
