Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA) senior point guard recruit Devon Hall made an official visit to the University of Virginia this past weekend. Hall, who plans to sign a letter of intent with the Hoos in mid-November, enjoyed his time and even did a little recruiting for his future school.

“Practice was very fun. Then there was the nightlife and the people… they are all really nice people,” said Hall, whose host was freshman Justin Anderson . He spent quite a bit of time with all the players and coaches, though.

“It was a lot of fun. A lot of fun. [UVa] is a home away from home. The people there are really, really nice. They are down-to-earth and welcoming. It was a great feeling. I was trying to help out with the big guy Joel, because we need him.”

Hall referenced Rock School (Gainesville, FL) center Joel Embiid, who was in town for an official visit as well. Embiid, who stands at 7’0″, is also considering Florida, Kansas, Marquette, Ohio State and Texas.

“Basically, I said we need him more than any other school does,” Hall said. “He can come here and have an opportunity to be part of something special. At Virginia, he will have a great opportunity.”

Hall believes Embiid would be a great addition to the program, but he was also pleased by the talent level he saw on display in UVa’s practice. The 6’5″, 205-pound senior, a 4-star recruit, calls the Virginia program “a program on the rise.”
