The Virginia Cavaliers dominated the final 11:38 of the game and for the fourth time in his career quarterback Michael Rocco led the Cavaliers on a game-tying or game-winning drive in UVa’s 41-40 victory over the University of Miami. The win was the fourth of the season and kept the Hoos’ slim postseason hopes alive.
Virginia opened the game with a 21-point explosion in the first 15 minutes, the most given up by the Canes’ defense all season in the opening quarter. Then the Cavaliers became the first team all year to complete a come-from-behind win in the final period against Miami, which is now 4-1 when leading after three quarters.
