Western Branch CB Sets UVa Visit

Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA) cornerback DaiQuan Lawrence thought he had his college future set when he verbally committed to Wake Forest in June of 2013. That all changed, though, when Demon Deacon head coach Jim Grobe resigned immediately following the 2013 regular season. Lawrence has since reopened his recruitment, and UVa, which had offered the Bruin senior a scholarship before he committed to Wake, is looking to take advantage of the opportunity.

“Coach (Chip) West actually came to my school the [day after Grobe resigned],” Lawrence said.

“[The Virginia coaches] have been drilling it in my head that they would love to have me.”

Lawrence will be in Charlottesville this weekend for an official visit.
