Carter Enjoys UVa, Considers Future

In August just before the start of the 2013 season, Temple University became the first FBS school to offer a scholarship to Darrious Carter of Indiana High School (PA). Carter, a 6’5″, 210-pound defensive end and wide receiver at IHS, accepted the Owl offer but now is giving the University of Virginia a very serious look.

“I won’t say I’m de-committed, but I am definitely up in the air right now,” said Carter, who was in Charlottesville on an official visit this past weekend. It was his first ever trip to UVa. “I feel pretty strong about Virginia, but I gave Temple my word. Because of that I think I maybe should at least visit there.”

Carter was accompanied last weekend by his parents, who also left impressed.

“My parents loved it,” Carter said. “It’s a very nice place. It’s very clean. It has everything you want. Everything is close. The students are real cool and nice. The players are real cool. They made me feel welcome. I chilled with them and other recruits. It was just real nice.”
