It’s no secret that a top point guard is on UVA head coach Tony Bennett’s class of 2018 recruiting wish list. Likely UVA’s top remaining target on the board is Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.) star Jahvon Quinerly, who is in Charlottesville for the 2017 NBPA Top 100 Camp

The 6’1”, 175-pound Quinerly has narrowed his list to seven: Arizona, Kansas, Seton Hall, Stanford, UCLA, Villanova, and Virginia. Following last year’s NBPA Top 100, he stayed on Grounds for an unofficial. He plans to do the same thing this year.

Quinerly took some time following the first round of games at the NBPA Top 100 Camp to talk UVA and more.

Impressions of UVA

“ACC school,” Quinerly said. “Play against arguably the best conference in the country. Being able to come in and run a team at that level.”

“I actually got to see the Villanova/Virginia game that ended on a buzzer beater last year. London’s even reached out to me. We kind have a good relationship. I definitely see similarities,” Quinerly said.

“He can go get a bucket whenever,” Quinerly said. “He’s not slow all the time. He can speed it up. That’s kind of my game as well.”

What he is looking to get out of the coming UVA visit.

“I’d say keep building relationship with the coaches. That’s probably one of the main things,”
