You would be hard-pressed to think of the last freshman to enter the Virginia baseball lineup and hit cleanup like Henry Ford. Even if you’re UVA head coach Brian O’Connor.

Mike Papi in 2012 was the last freshman for the Cavaliers to spend the majority of the season in the cleanup spot. Only four freshmen have ever hit fourth in the the lineup for O’Connor at UVA, Papi, Dan Grovatt in 2008, David Adams in 2006, and Sean Doolittle in 2005.
