The Virginia basketball team needed a win to stay in the ACC Regular Season Championship race. To get that, it also needed a better performance than recent games that included consecutive losses on the road.
The Hoos got part of the lift they needed from their youngest options. True freshmen Isaac McKneely and Ryan Dunn stepped up with big performances in a 64-57 win.
“Obviously, our two first-years did a good job for us giving us lifts,” Virginia coach Tony Bennett said.
The two freshmen combined for 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting in the win. McKneely posted 12 points, while Dunn added 10 points with 5 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and 1 steal. Both of those stat lines showed a significant jump from recent weeks for the duo.
