Virginia basketball fans spent most of April and May nervously waiting on news about Reece Beekman. The Cavalier guard entered his name in the NBA Draft, participated in pro team workouts and the NBA Draft Combine, and evaluated his options as the May 31 withdrawal deadline approached.
With some mock drafts showing a rise in his draft potential, Beekman eventually decided to the return to Virginia for his senior season. Fan jitters turned to joy quickly and the outlook for the 2023-2024 Hoos immediately took on a different look.
