The Virginia women’s basketball team rolled into the exam break at 7-2 this season with wins against Missouri and Tulane among the highlights, while the two losses both came to teams ranked in the top 25 at the time. UVA has two more non-conference games before ACC play begins on New Year’s Eve with NC State at the John Paul Jones Arena.

The Hoos kept the victories coming in and delighting fans despite lineup shuffles as multiple players missed games with injuries. Sam Brunelle, London Clarkson, Paris Clark, and Kaydan Lawson all missed at least two games. One reason the flow kept going, though, is the play of two steady point guards for Virginia.

True freshman Kymora Johnson and sophomore Yonta Vaughn give the Wahoos a dynamic one-two punch that challenges opponents throughout the game. Both have averaged more than 4 assists per game with Johnson at 4.8 and Vaughn at 4.2, the only ACC team with a pair of players at 4.2 or higher currently.
