Summer is winding down so of course, I am thinking about football. Virginia football and other football.

Of course, I am also thinking about football when summer is winding up. And on Labor Day. And on Arbor Day. And on Halloween. And on … well, you know. I am thinking about it a lot.

But I really start to get that antsy feeling this time of year. The NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror. Offseason work is in various stages of progress. Camps at the various levels of the game have happened, are happening, and soon will happen. And of course, real prep for the 2022 season is gearing up.

So I am thinking about football. I cannot help it. And of course, friends ask me a lot of questions about football at this time of year. What if …? Do you think …? What are the chances that …? And that gets me thinking, too.
