One step forward, followed by at least one step back. After getting its first ACC win of the season at Georgia Tech, the Virginia football returned home for a four-game stretch hoping to start some momentum. Instead, the Hoos squandered opportunities all day long and then watched Miami steal the win in the fourth overtime.
The loss unleashed a bunch of emotions for fans, coaches, and players alike. Frustration was certainly one of them. UVA coach Tony Elliott understands that feeling – “My stomach, I’m sick. My stomach is literally knotted because we didn’t win the football game,” he said as part of his postgame remarks.

The UVA offense did not find its way into the end zone on Saturday despite multiple chances inside the red zone. A third of the team’s 327 total yards came on two plays – a 64-yard reception from Mike Hollins and a 47-yard catch from Lavel Davis Jr. – but neither produced a touchdown.
