Five Things To Watch On Offense At Virginia Spring Game

The Virginia football team’s annual Blue-White Spring Game kicks off at Scott Stadium on Saturday at 2 p.m. Entry and parking are free with the gates opening for admission at 1 p.m. The ACC Network will carry the game live as well.

Before the Hoos hit the field, here are five things to watch for the offense this weekend.

Virginia Duo Of Tony Muskett And Malachi Fields

Two players fans should be excited to watch are Tony Muskett and Malachi Fields. Because he’s a transfer quarterback, plenty of people will be watching Muskett closely and examining how he integrates into the offense. Offensive coordinator Des Kitchings said this week that Muskett has completed approximately 70% of his passes this spring so it will be interesting to see if that carries over into a live scrimmage.

Fields is a big wide receiver who showed real promise in his lone game against Pitt in 2022. This hype has continued into the spring as coaches have discussed his hard work and progress as a player. With Fields set for a breakout season, I anticipate him becoming a favorite target for Muskett. Standing at 6’4″, Fields’ big frame can be utilized in the red zone, an area where Virginia struggled mightily last year. He did score a touchdown in the Pittsburgh game last fall.
