Ever since he was a young boy, football has been a centerpiece in the life of Jack Griese. He seeks to add his name the long line of Grieses who have made a name for themselves in the football world.

Grandfather Bob Griese quarterbacked the Miami Dolphins to two Super Bowl victories and is widely regarded as one of the best QBs to ever play the game. In 1990, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After retirement, he spent many years calling NFL games for NBC and college football games for ESPN.

Uncle Brian Griese is a National Championship winning quarterback with the Michigan Wolverines. Though he earned a Pro Bowl Selection with the Denver Broncos in 2000, he bounced around the NFL for much of his career before finding a home as an analyst for ESPN, working on the network’s college football coverage as well as Monday Night Football most recently. In 2022, he decided to leave the company and is now the QBs coach for the San Francisco 49ers.

Finally, father Scott Griese managed to play a few years at defensive back for the Virginia football team under George Welsh. Both Jack’s father and mother attended UVA, which seemed to play a sizable role in his decision to attend.
