The Virginia football team will stay on the road for its fourth ACC game of the season when it takes on Miami down in The Sunshine State. Like UVA, Miami had a down year in 2022 with a first year head coach, finishing 5-7 in Mario Cristobal’s debut.

Fans of both teams will remember the abysmal, four overtime game that took place between these two programs in 2022. Despite the length of the game, a 14-12 final score gave the win to the Hurricanes. Coach Tony Elliott’s squad will have to put together a stronger performance in this crucial contest if it wants a different result this year.

Why don’t we learn more about the team Virginia will play in its eighth game of the 2023 season.

What To Expect On Game Day

What’s To Like: Revamped Roster. There wasn’t much to like about the 2022 Miami football season. The offense struggled, the defense didn’t stand out, and just as a whole it wasn’t a typical season for the Hurricanes. Well, Cristobal went to the transfer portal and made a lot of upgrades to his team. According to 247 Sports, Miami has the No. 7 ranked transfer portal class. This is second best in the ACC behind only Florida State. The offensive line in particular is expected to be much better this season. Outside of Zion Nelson’s return from injury, Cristobal added two four-star transfers in Javion Cohen from Alabama and Matt Lee from UCF. Cohen, who was second-team All-SEC in 2022, was ranked as the top lineman in the portal and the No. 10 overall player. With a boosted offensive line, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke could be set up to have a bounce-back season in 2023.
