The Virginia Cavaliers will play a tough Duke opponent for the team’s second to last regular season football game of the year. The Blue Devils impressed many last season with a 9-4 record after a dreadful 2021 that saw no conference wins and an overall record of 3-9. They’d like to keep the progress going under second-year coach Mike Elko.

Duke’s offense, which was top 5 in the ACC, will return lots of starters in 2023 and the team as a whole has a lot of experience. It’ll be interesting to see if the Blue Devils can repeat some of their 2022 success in an ACC that got a lot better during the offseason.

Why don’t we learn more about the 11th opponent of Virginia’s 2023 season.

What To Expect On Game Day

What’s To Like: Successful Offense Returning Starters. The Blue Devils were consistently putting up numbers on offense throughout the 2022 season. The team averaged 415.7 yards per game (4th in ACC, 44th nationally), had 184.2 rushing yards per game (3rd in ACC, 40th nationally), and scored 32.8 points per game (5th in ACC, T-32nd nationally). Lucky for Duke fans, the offense returns nine of the 11 starters from 2022.
