Well, Friday night wasn’t too fun. Don’t get me wrong, I was having a great time after those first two drives, but it only went downhill from there. Ultimately, the score doesn’t exactly reflect how competitive the game was, but still, Virginia got blown out in the end.
Coach Tony Elliott and his team will have to have short memories, though. The Hoos open up ACC play with some more Friday night lights this week when NC State comes to town. There will be some familiar faces on the NCSU sideline. Quarterback Brennan Armstrong, offensive coordinator Robert Anae, and offensive line coach Garett Tujague are all now a part of the Wolfpack program after spending time with Virginia.
NC State enters this matchup at 2-1 with wins over UConn and VMI, while losing at home against Notre Dame. The Wolfpack know they need to win this game in order to keep any hopes of reaching an ACC title game alive, so they’ll be coming into Scott Stadium hot and full of energy. Hopefully a hostile Friday night crowd can throw them off their game.
Let’s learn more about the ACC opener for Virginia with the three-list preview series.
