Johnson Receiving ACC Interest

Spotsylvania (VA) linebacker Stevie Johnson is currently drawing interest from a number of ACC schools, including Virginia, Maryland, Wake Forest, N.C. State and Duke. SEC standout Tennessee is also showing some interest in the 6-2, 225-pound prospect, who acknowledged two schools he feels stand out among the rest in terms of the amount of interest.

“UVa and Maryland,” Johnson replied when asked which schools are showing the most interest. UNC, which is his childhood favorite and certainly high on his list, has not shown much interest at this point. “They’re just sending me letters right now. Some are handwritten and some aren’t.”

Johnson has visited both UVa and Maryland unofficially for junior days this year. His experience in Charlottesville was a positive one, as he particularly enjoyed touring the facilities.

“It was good and I enjoyed it,” Johnson said. He plans on going back to UVa for summer camp. “I talked to all of the coaches. They just wanted to let me know who they were and stuff like that. We saw the school and went to see the field and everything. The field is awesome…it’s big.”
