QB or Special Teams in Goff’s Future?

Matt Goff mans three crucial positions for Robinson (Fairfax, VA) head coach Mark Bendorf. He plays quarterback and is the punter and place-kicker as well. What’s even better for coach is how successful Goff is at quarterback and on special teams.

Goff is 29-1 as a starter for Robinson on three levels (freshman, junior varsity and varsity). Last season, the 6-2, 180-pound signal caller threw for 1500 yards and rushed for 500 more in leading Robinson’s varsity squad to a 13-1 record and a state championship appearance. At punter, Goff broke the single season yards-per-punt average with a 40.5 yards-per-punt average. As a place-kicker, he shows a strong leg and made 36 of 40 extra points last season.

So where is he being recruited to play on the next level?

“Honestly as of right now I don’t know but I’m looking for both,” Goff said. On special teams, he is being recruited more as a punter than a place-kicker.
