Seniors Perry Jones and Tim Smith are two major reasons why Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) is 9-0 at this point in the season as well as the favorite to capture the Group AAA, Division 6 state championship. The University of Virginia has a commitment from one – Jones, a 5-9, 185-pound defensive back recruit – and is hoping to land the other in the very near future.

Jones earned first-team all-state honors at linebacker last season as a junior. He played fullback as well. This season, he has seen a more expanded role as the team’s starting tailback and has kept his role as a starting linebacker.
