Cavs Stay Hot, Add CB

UVa football has landed its ninth commitment in the class of 2015. Greater Johnstown (Johnstown, PA) cornerback Kareem Gibson is the latest pledge, choosing the Hoos over offers from Pittsburgh and West Virginia, among others.

Gibson is the third Pennsylvania native — the second this week — to commit to Virginia. The 5’10”, 170-pound rising senior is the first cornerback recruit for the Hoos in this class, which also currently includes one quarterback, one wide receiver, one tight end, three offensive linemen, one defensive tackle and one free safety.

247Sports.com and Scout.com rank Gibson as a 3-star player. Gibson competed in the Nike Combine in Massillon (OH) in February of this year and posted a 4.59-second 40, a 4.21-second shuttle, and a 32.3-inch vertical leap.

  1. I have said several times that Pennsylvania should be a prime recruting area for UVa. Lots of uppermiddle class kids looking to get out of overcrowded subrbia. Get them down here and out into the country and Parents and kids love it.
