UVa was in great shape in class of 2016 recruiting as this week began, having received verbal commitments from four prospects:
– 4-star combo guard Kyle Guy
– 4-star forward Sacha Killeya-Jones
– Combo guard Ty Jerome, a 3-star whose stock has risen as a result of his play this spring
– Jay Huff, a 6’10” forward who has a lot of work to do physically but whose skills have caught the attention of recruiting analysts at Rivals and Scout, who rank the skilled stretch-four as a 4-star recruit, and, of course, UVa’s Tony Bennett.
Sacha Killeya-Jones’ decision to reopen his recruitment has shaken things up, as Virginia’s frontcourt need looms even larger now. Here is the latest projected scholarship breakdown for the 2016/2017 season:
Point Guards: London Perrantes (SR), Darius Thompson (JR), Ty Jerome (FR)
Wings: Devon Hall (JR), Marial Shayok (JR), Kyle Guy (FR)
Posts: Isaiah Wilkins (JR), Jack Salt (SOPH), Jarred Reuter (SOPH), Jay Huff (FR)
