Report: Courtland’s Nick Grant Reopens Recruitment

Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA) athlete Nick Grant has “reopened the recruiting process,” Taft Coghill of the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star reports.

Grant, a 6’2″, 180-pound senior, verbally committed to UVA back in April of this year. The Free-Lance star report indicates he has not de-committed but wants to keep his options open.

“I think Nick’s just trying to make sure that he doesn’t get behind the 8-ball on this,” Courtland head coach JC Hall said in the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star report. “So he’s open to listening to other schools and what they have to offer. He might have a change of heart here. I don’t know. Anybody that comes in wanting to talk to him I’m letting them talk to him. That’s basically it.”

Grant is a 2-time all-Conference 19 selection, earning first-team honors as a kick returner his junior season and first-team honors as a defensive back this season. He played wide receiver and cornerback for the Cougars this season but likely would play defensive back at UVA.

Initial attempts to reach Grant were unsuccessful, but we hope to get comment as soon as possible.
