Three-Star DB/WR Antonio Clary Announces Commitment To Virginia

Sandalwood (Jacksonville, FL) junior Antonio Clary has given a verbal commitment to the University of Virginia, which now boasts four pledges in the class of 2019. Clary, a 6’2”, 190-pound safety/wide receiver, announced his decision Sunday (April 8) morning.

“After talking with my family and Coach Geis, also bonding with this amazing coaching staff and making it feel like home, I believe that I will have an early impact and leave a legacy here,” Clary wrote in the tweet below. “I am proud to announce that I am committed to the University of Virginia! #GOHOOS!! #NEWSTANDARD”

Clary also considered scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech and Washington State before choosing the Hoos. The 247Sports 3-star recruit made his decision while in Charlottesville on a visit this weekend.

Of Virginia’s four class of 2019 commitments, three hail from the state of Florida – Clary and a pair of Dunbar (Fort Myers, FL) stars in running back/H-Back Seneca Milledge and defensive back Major Williams. Wide receiver Dorien Goddard, a native of Tennessee, has also pledged to head coach Bronco Mendenhall.
